WHAT THE NATIONAL KIDNEY FOUNDATION DOES FOR KIDNEY PATIENTS
National Kidney Foundation helps the cause of kidney patients by:
- Arranging talks, slide/video shows by kidney specialists, for educating the public about kidney diseases, kidney failure and transplantation.
- Organising 'Renal Disease Detection Camps' at various places for early detection of kidney ailments.
- Publishing a quarterly "Newsletter" which:
- Gives information about various aspects of kidney diseases.
- Publishes letters from patients and their relatives seeking financial help and drugs.
- Publishes other useful information for the benefit of kidney patients.
- Informs about activities carried out by NFKI from time to time.
- Donating dialysis machines to hospital where kidney failure patients can undergo dialysis.
- Directing patients to other charitable institutions for financial help for treatment, particularly since NFKI on its own in not in a position to give substantial monetary aid to patients.
- NFKI is all set to launch a 'Cadaver Kidney Transplant Programme' which is one of the main aims of the foundation.
